Freeeedom

Let freedom ring, this week I was freed from many different things:

I finished Colistin earlier this week and have never been so thankful for shorter treatments in the morning. Now I have 28 more hours of time on my hands!

At Yoga this week I successfully held the Crow pose! I remember doing this in gymnastics all the time as a kid. Now I need to practice the next step in the pose, jumping to half pigeon. I love Yoga!

At the end of Yoga as we were all trying to relax I breathed in and my lungs moaned. Oh no I thought, this is going to be a long cough. It's really interesting the sounds my lungs make sometimes, mostly due to air being trapped or moving mucus. I love Yoga because of this and hate it because I feel I'm disrupting everyone's quite time. So I got up and went into the hallway. Which didn't really help me avoid others hearing my cough. Class ended and I walked back into the room. The instructor knows I have CF so she knows not to worry. Luckily there were only 3 other ladies in class that day. I was thinking I should just announce, don't worry I'm not sick, but one of the ladies beat me to it by saying to me, "You need some antibiotics" with her hands raised like she was saying a cheer. I smiled and responded, "I have some, I have cystic fibrosis, so this happens all the time." She then responded with an embarrassed Oh and quickly followed with Oh so yoga is good for you. She then explained how one of her friends children was diagnosed 2 years ago at age 7. We talked a bit longer and then went on our way. One of the initial reasons I started this blog was to share all the incidences of people responding to my cough. Some awkward, funny and some made me really angry. I was proud of myself though that my initial response was one of sympathy and thinking I need to educate. Its only later as I get to write about what happened that I can be upset and make cynical remarks like, stop pretending you care about my situation when really you just want to be comforted I'm not going to get you sick. Do you think I'm that inconsiderate to come to class that sick! Anyway one of the less entertaining coughing interactions but it showed me my gluten-free diet is working, my depression and deep rooted anger is gone.

My writers block disappeared this week because I finally wrote out two health comedy sketches and began really envisioning my health company and foundation. I even signed up for an intensive writing weekend to introduce me to dramatic writing and writing a one woman show. Get ready my comedy fans, I'll be coming to you in a whole new way later this year!

I even broke free from some of my introverted self and made plans for hanging out with new and old friends. I caught up with some others via the internet because I just don't like talking on the phone.
