Made My Day (Week)

Shout out to all my college friends that I had the privilege of visiting with this past weekend. An awesome game night with good wine. Yummy food, art and sun tanning with some others. Oh and a good garage sale with some others the weekend prior. I felt so comfortable and at ease around all of y'all. I didn't feel like I had to force conversation or try too hard. Time just flowed and I needed to be distracted. It was reassuring that I am capable of talking and connecting with people in my age group. Lately around here I feel like I have to try so hard to be a friend.

Today, I got my hair did, which felt so nice. Put some low lights (darker) in to make my highlights, brighter and did some shorter layers in the front to frame my face. I was reminded that I do need to take care of my appearance because I feel better and more confident when I do. If I don't look sick then I won't be sick!

The Diabetes Center I volunteer with had a meeting today. We are in full swing planning for our Young Adult Program. It is a transition program from childhood care to adult independence. We shared lots of ideas and I can see the program taking form. If I haven't mentioned this before, I like working with Diabetes, in this case type 1, because its not as tragic as working with a terminal illness. Also, unlike CF meetings where we can't be close to each other, I can be around diabetics and not worry about germs.

While I was out and about today I did happen to spot a couple of people and things that made my day:

Ugg flip flops, once again California's prepare both for hot and cold weather at the same time just as they did with mini skirts and Ugg boots...

I usually don't respect women who wear all one color tract suits, but this lady was fierce with her leopard print sunglasses and shoes, and wildly furry purse. I guess it was her hunting outfit so she wouldn't be confused with the animals.

This lady was trying to control her 3 small children, like I said no one is going to respect you wearing an all pink outfit. As the back of your sweatshirt says, "Dreamin", even if you did nicely tuck them into your Uggs.
