The Adding Fat Game
MY FAT CAT-FLUFFY!
At most meals butter and salt are always added. Recently I've been inventive with my meals by loading fat containing foods on top. I don't like eating multiple items, but if they are all together, I have a greater chance of eating more. Now that I am exercising everyday my body needs a lot more to help repair and build muscle. I also have to be careful of my salt intake, since my cells don't use it, I excrete more than usual and have to intake more. The summer months are all about hydration and salt. Here are a few examples of fatty tricks:
Breakfast:
1. Rice english muffin with butter, cream cheese, peanut butter and jelly. Peanut butter can be added to almost anything and be good.
2. Bacon- Does this need an explanation besides YUM
3. Ice cream- When I was 8 my mom's friend listed all these breakfast items and I did not seem convinced any of it tasted good. She then said okay how about a banana split? My eyes widen and a big smile came across my face, but that isn't breakfast and I glanced sideways at mom to see if she was okay with this. Sure it is, it has milk, fruit and protein from the nuts. SOLD. Ever since Ice cream is always available for breakfast.
Lunch:
Any side or salad I eat with avocado and nuts. I usually drink Dr. Pepper, nectar of the gods, at lunch. Though there is no fat in soda, there is a lot of sugar so some of that could be converted into fat. Although it is not healthy at all and I should stop, it really is my only vice.
Dinner: Cooking with olive oil and butter (it smells so good) is always a good option. Same nut rule applies, they go with just about everything.
Smoothies: The magic bullet is my favorite! I usually dump grape-seed oil and ground up flax seed in with protein powder, rice milk or regular, juice and fruit.
Snack:
1. CHEESE. When I was younger I couldn't tolerate cheese, my bowls were all funky. Then one miraculous day I could eat cheese without feeling sick! Cheese can go with everything, I really like it with fruit. Cottage cheese and peaches, Swiss and apples. Cheese glorious cheese...
2. Sour cream, the best stuff on this planet. Best with Mexican food and potatoes. In baking it is a dream. Chips are always better with sour cream or some kind of dip.
Making a conscious effort to snack and add on to a meal I have been able to gain a couple more pounds. It really isn't hard for me to gain weight as long as I eat constantly. That was the main problem earlier in the year I wasn't eating enough. I didn't enjoy it and always felt full. Now the little games I play seem to help me enjoy eating again. And of course all gluten free. Being gluten free has helped me be a conscious eater, I really get to know my food, what it is made out of and where it comes from. Forgive me if this has made you terribly hungry and craving fatty foods!
