Dreamer

After waking up screaming in pain yesterday morning, I was not looking forward to the day. I pulled myself out of bed to get the heating pad and some Aleve. All I could find was Tylenol so I took some and curled up in bed again. I was suppose to be in LA at noon with my mom to have lunch with some lovely family friends. My alarm was going to go off at 8, I hoped this pain would go away! By 9 am my lungs seemed to be fine, with just tinges of sharp pain. I was determined to get out of the house and not be debilitated. I wore myself out doing that. During lunch I was alright, I took a Motrin and tried to focus on the conversation. My friends of course understood, but i just couldn't stop focusing on the shooting pain in my shoulder. By the time we got back home I was ready for some ice and the tv. I took some Aleve, ice and heat, I miraculously was energized. I went for a walk and it felt good. Pain was still lingering but my bodies desire to move was stronger. I collapsed into bed with one more Aleve pill and didn't wake up until this morning. Yay a night with out coughing....but I interrupted this strange dream....

There I was in a house, on a retreat with other CFers (which shouldn't happen). I came with all my breathing treatment equipment. The others laughed at me. Saying, they didn't bring their equipment, they were here to have fun. One guy said he didn't do it in the mornings because he couldn't wake up that early. I continued to hang out with them, someone was playing guitar and some of them went to Coffee Bean. I seemed to be the only one coughing! One girl said she only did her treatment when she would cough more than usual, otherwise if she wasn't coughing, there wasn't anything to get out, so why do her treatment. I was extremely frustrated, I couldn't figure out what I should do and that's when I woke up! Obviously, I'm having some internal struggle with my breathing treatment and my annoying coughing.

Why pain? These are the two reasons my doctor has explained thus far. Although yesterday was a whole new level and amount of pain.....
1. The lung tissue lining is rubbing against the other layer, this can be due to fluid or just the muscles around the lungs.
2. A rib is out or fractured. The rib muscles are placed opposed to each other, as in some go left while others go right. When you cough extremely hard, they catch and can cause hairline fractures. There is nothing you can do about this, just let it heal. The muscles can just catch and tense up, almost like spasms.
