One Year Anniversary
YAY!! Let's celebrate over a year of this blog!! I am receiving more comments from people that I didn't even know read my blog. It is always nice to hear what you think and I appreciate all the encouragement! I would love if more people would officially follow ;) I am glad that I am able to share with you. And one of the many reasons I started this blog was to deal with the ever changing affects of CF life has to offer and how I deal with them, so happy 1 year to all this too...
1. The Cure, my car, and I have been together for just over a year, and everyday driving my sports car gets better and better. In moments of frustration or playfulness, pressing the pedal to have the engine crescendo in a powerful purr melts away all my worries and cares. It is just lovely driving around, its where I think best and of course seeing the ocean along the way doesn't hurt either. I still get some puzzled looks when I step out of my care, either people are thinking, that's her mom's car or her dirty old man boyfriend bought it for her. Trust me, it is a thrill to valet my car, cute valet guys are extra nice.
2. Living at home, well not exactly something to celebrate, but I needed this time to be here. Although my parents drive me crazy sometimes, our relationship has grown and I really do enjoy the friend/confidant role.
3. NO Hospitalization!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's right, its been over a year since being chained up by IVs and no problems in sight. I'm almost there to complete my goal, "No hospitalization in 2010."
4. Weight a 130-135 lbs: DONE AND DONE, I once again have muscles and a little belly fat, food tastes good and I want to eat. Best money I ever spent was my swim membership and yoga classes.
5. Gluten Free Brice: It was right before thanksgiving last year, I was super upset about not eating desserts, but now I can pass flour desserts or breads without a care in the world. It is incredible how my sinuses are not bothered by the Santa Ana winds or the changes in temperature. I am so grateful that changing my diet was the solution instead of surgery or more medicine. If CF was only that easy. I am sure my CF has been affected positively as well. This past year alone, the number of gluten free products, restaurants and people that I know that are affected has grown, its actually cool to have an allergy. If only I was in school, I could be one of those kids, (in annoying kid voice) "this table is only for those with special food diets because of their allergies, your presence is so cross-contaminating."
