20 H1N1 Shots for My CF Center...

OOOOOOPPPPS, I guess they can't count. The government in an attempt to make all mankind equal once again divided up the population into different categories based on individual criteria, this time your health risks. They determined there were 3 high risk populations and they should receive the vaccination first. Children, pregnant women and those with chronic conditions, particularly those that are younger. Now, these vaccines should first be sent to Pediatricians, OBGYN's and specialized health centers of chronic diseases, right?

My CF center has over 180 adult patients, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation claims there are 30, 000 people living with CF in America. The majority of then go to a CF center, so how much easier does the CF population need to make it for the government to figure out how to deliver around 30,000 h1n1 vaccines to these centers?!?!?!?!?

My CF center was placed in a very undesirable position and did the best they could to serve their patients. They ended up giving the CF patients with the lowest FEV1 scores or those in the most severe lung disease category the vaccine. Thankfully, I wasn't on the top of the list for that. Unfortunately, I've also been denied the vaccine at health clinics because I wasn't pregnant. Guess I should have planned better... Even if I could pass as a child, they seem to only giving out the nasal spray, which is the live virus and that is no good. It's ridiculous, hey congress maybe instead of spending your Saturdays re-writing the health care bill you should have been handling the current health crisis of not ordering enough vaccines in a timely manner!!
